UCI Statement on Oier Lazkano Lopez

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that Spanish rider Oier Lazkano Lopez has been provisionally suspended in accordance with the UCI Anti-Doping Rules, due to unexplained abnormalities in his Athlete Biological Passport (*) in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The UCI will not comment further while the proceedings are ongoing.

(*) The Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) is an individual electronic record for each rider, in which the results of all doping tests collected as part of the ABP programme over a given period are collated. The International Testing Agency (ITA), the independent entity to which the UCI delegated its anti-doping programme while retaining responsibility for the management of results and the prosecution of anti-doping rule violations, manages the ABP programme in collaboration with the Athlete Passport Management Unit (APMU) of Lausanne, Switzerland (the APMU of Lausanne is associated with the World Anti-Doping Agency accredited Laboratory of Lausanne). Athlete Biological cases are prosecuted based on the opinion of an independent Expert Panel of the APMU.

Déclaration de l'UCI au sujet de Oier Lazkano Lopez

L’Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) annonce que le coureur espagnol Oier Lazkano Lopez a été provisoirement suspendu, conformément au Règlement Antidopage de l’UCI, en raison d’anomalies non-expliquées dans son Passeport Biologique de l’Athlète (*) en 2022, 2023 et 2024.

L’UCI ne fera aucun autre commentaire tant que la procédure est en cours.

(*) Le Passeport Biologique de l'Athlète (PBA) est un dossier électronique individuel propre à chaque coureur, dans lequel sont consignés les résultats de tous les contrôles antidopage réalisés dans le cadre du programme du PBA sur une période donnée. L’International Testing Agency (ITA), l’entité à laquelle l’UCI a délégué son programme antidopage tout en conservant la gestion des résultats et la poursuite des violations des règles antidopage, assure la gestion du programme du PBA en collaboration avec l’Unité de gestion du passeport biologique de l’athlète (UGPBA) de Lausanne, en Suisse (l’UGPBA de Lausanne est associée au Laboratoire de Lausanne, accrédité par l’Agence mondiale antidopage). Les cas de passeport biologique sont poursuivis sur la base de l'avis d'un Panel d’Experts indépendants de l’UGPBA.
